Last week the Institute for the Study of Freedom of Religion or Belief at ETF Leuven organised an interdisciplary conference in Leuven entitled 'Secular States Struggling with Religious Freedom'.
This event saw a thought-provoking opening keynote by prof. Jonathan Fox as part of a 26-paper program. Our members Niels and Rik contributed a session to this event with two papers on the history of organised secularism in Belgium as it relates to they way in which non-religious dispositions in Belgium are treated and can (or cannot) find their way in our political secularism. Some members of the research department of deMens.nu were present as well.
