Ellen Van Impe
Biography
Ellen Van Impe graduated in Germanic languages and art history at the KU Leuven and the University of Manchester. She obtained a PhD on nineteenth-century architectural historiography in Belgium in 2008. From 2008 to 2018 she worked at the Centrum Vlaamse Architectuurarchieven (CVAa) of the Flanders Architecture Institute (VAi), co-authoring several manuals, thematic archive guides, articles and exhibitions on cultural heritage. In 2021 she joined the Centrum Academische en Vrijzinnige Archieven (CAVA) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where she manages the research policy and studies the evolution and networks of secular organizations in Flanders and Brussels since 1945. She heads the organisation as coordinator as of June 2022.
