Deze studiedag is een gezamenlijk initiatief van de Banaba Psychosociale Gerontologie van hogeschool Odisee en van het onderzoekscentrum ‘ Secular Studies Association Brussels ’ van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

On December 11, the ULB-VUB Joint research group Brussels Center for Religious and Secular Studies hosts its first workshop. The subject matter is current issues in research on Islam in Europe. Four researchers from both the VUB (SSAB) and ULB (CIERL) groups are involved as presenters or chairs.

From 22-23 March, we will hold the first activity in the wider project of 'Biography and Secularism'.

In this workshop, scholars from different disciplines (literature studies, ecofeminism, aesthetics and urban studies) discuss the complex phenomenon of the reciprocal influence between individuals and urban culture and disciplining forces in the very specific case of secularisation.

Soumaya Naamane Guessous, een sociologe en fervent feministe, beroemd om haar baanbrekende boek Au-delà de toute pudeur: la sexualité féminine au Maroc (1988), komt naar de Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
